Pima cotton is one of the highest quality cotton varieties. In general, the longer a cotton fiber is, the quality it is classified.
Pima cotton has long fibers with high tensile strength. It is grown on some farms in the southern U.S. and in Latin America. In Peru, organic pima cotton on relatively small fields of cotton grown and harvested according to the old tradition of the Incas by hand. In the southern United States very large harvesters are used, making the use of chemicals to separate the seeds necessary. Ecologically, this is not and the contamination of soils for the subsequent rearing is not a good basis.
The micro climate in Peru can grow a very high quality cotton. Because of the economic drip irrigation and hand harvesting can do without the use of chemical substances to separate the nuclei. So just this cotton is considered to be very natural, ecological. Pima cotton from Peru is clearly cotton.
