integration of live action and 3D animation

  If film and animation are combined, the audience should not thoughtless waste because not part of the picture are real.  
  But: What can be live action and animation blend together successfully? Below I will present the most important factors:  
   
   1. Light and shadow   
  color and direction of light and shade must harmonize. It should effects that occur in nature, are considered.  
  So for example in the direct sun light from the sun to a warm hue. Simultaneously, the shadows appear but not black; by the blue of the sky they are lightened with a cool, bluish tint.  

   
  In this graph it abundantly clear: Neither the sun shines in a neutral white, yet the shadows are really clear and black. Similarly, an illuminated object is not just bright, it reflects a portion of the light and so in turn illuminates areas that really can not be taken from direct light. The following picture shows a scene with only one source of light.  
   
below were elected, the reflection properties of the wall so that the effect is noticeable unusually strong: Illuminated objects influence the light mood of the scene by part of the light reflection.

 
   second Perspective and movement   
  A harmonious perspective is also crucial for a fusion of live action and animation: position, viewing direction, pitch and focal length of the real and the virtual camera must match. Similarly, the movements.  
  Adjusting the movements of the reel and the virtual camera is called " Matchmoving . To synchronize the two cameras on each other, one needs first the movement data of the real camera. For several years, it is not absolutely necessary, save that data already in the shooting. Current software is able to extract from all ordinary video data of the movement.

  In the example you first see a movie scene without matchmoving. This is very clear how little the subject is integrated into the background. Then you will see two scenes with match moving. Not only changes in position, but even zoom and violent shaking can be adapted. The last example shows how the resulting data can be used as well. The real camera movement of the drive through the alley was here transferred to the virtual camera. One gets the impression that the camera would be on a car that drives over rough ground
